If you looked at my Pinterest account, you’d see that I love pretty things like make up, beauty, design, and decor. I can do all those things to a certain degree but when it comes to decor, I’m utterly stumped. And that’s why if you’ve been in my room anytime in the last 10 months, it looked like I literally just moved in. It’s sad, to be honest. But this week, I’ve made a big stride in making my place feel homey.
I’m on Pinterest a fair amount these days. I’m finally in that grown-up phase where I want to decorate my place and I want things to feel homey. And lately, I’ve gotten really into the eclectic/hipster bedroom look. I love mismatched items, hamsa, moons and stars, elephants, candles, arrows, and just some other quirky things.
If I had a room like this, I would be pleased:
I had these things in mind when I FINALLY decided to do something with my room. I decided to go on Etsy to try and find something that would cover my super naked walls.
And then I stumbled upon the tapestry section on Etsy and I distinctly remember hearing angels sing. I wanted E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. It was exactly what I was looking for. They had such cool patterns, colors, and it was different than what I’d seen on Pinterest.
Even though I could have gone with the really colorful mandala tapestries, I ended up falling in love with this tapestry from Etsy user LavishJaipur:
I spent weeks debating whether I wanted to spend $30 to get it sent to me. But I decided to suck it up and just buy it. And I’m so glad I did. The second it came, my roommate and I pinned it on my wall.
This is the final result:
The tapestry is HUGE; I think it’s queen size. Just for reference, my bed is a full.
Needless to say, I’m literally in LOVE with this part of my room and if you were to get a tapestry off Etsy, I would recommend getting it from LavishJaipur. The tapestry is exactly like it is in the picture.
Now I just need to fill the wall to the right with stuff. Ugh.
