A year and a half after starting my job, I finally decided it was time to start adding color to my office. I’m a bit late but…better late than never. Right…???
Either way, it was time to add a little personality into my very beige/neutral office. And since not having a mousepad was my biggest problem, I figured, “Why not start there?”
Luckily, I had an old tank top with a really pretty pattern I wanted to repurpose so this DIY was definitely meant to be.
Keep on reading if you wanna make your own DIY mousepad! Continue reading
There’s a new addition to the family! A baby! Well, a fur baby to be exact. My roommate adopted a puppy about a month ago. His name is Playdoh and he’s the cutest thing ever! And obviously, being first-time dog owners, we decided to throw him a puppy shower. I know, it’s so #LA, but it had to be done!
I can’t believe my trip was more than a month ago. Is it weird to say it almost feels like a distant memory already? Now that I’m back in my normal routine, I feel as though I’ve been doing it forever and my trip never really happened. Thank goodness my photos are still on my phone and I can relive everything!
So, the first part of my Euro trip was in Spain where I went for a wedding and saw a lot of cool places. It was all brand new to me. Poland, on the other hand, was for a more personal reason. The vibe of that part of the trip was so different than the one in Spain. LA is very urban and Spain is full of life and color. The city I went to in Poland is bursting with green foliage and had an old-world charm about it. It’s the kind of small, quiet town where your neighbors will come over for supper and tea. It was nice to slow down a bit and not have to rush through the day like I do back home.
While I didn’t do a whole lot of sightseeing, I DO have 10 photos I wanted to share with you of my time in southern Poland. 🙂
I can’t even begin to tell you how crazy the last few weeks have been! I recently came back from a 2 week vacation in paradise. AKA Europe. I spent four days in Spain, five days in Poland, and lost a few days due to LOTS of connecting flights. It was a crazy, tiring adventure but definitely something I’m glad I experienced. I can’t believe I hadn’t left the country in 11 years!!! After getting a glimpse of life outside of California and USA, I’m ready to go back out there for more! Getting back to my daily routine is driving me insane, actually haha.
I’m officially declaring it Fall even though California weather would have you think otherwise. It’s still too hot! But with my coconut oil finally solidifying, I’m pleased that Fall will (officially) be here in no time!
Once the weather starts cooling down, I like to reach for something that will make me feel cozy and warm on the inside. Pasta will usually do that for me. But despite my love of pasta, I don’t really make it too often because I don’t know what to add to cooked noodles besides tomato sauce and a bunch of different spices. 😦
I’ve also been craving something with mushrooms in it which is really weird because I’ve never liked mushrooms. I think my long-time desire for Beef Stroganoff but not being able to have it is finally getting to me. But after scouring Pinterest one day, I found a pasta dish with mushrooms that was totally doable and looked absolutely amazing.
I’m a hummus snob and I don’t care who knows it. I eat it with pretty much anything. Is it weird? Maybe. Is it damn delicious? Heck yes!
Whenever I go to Trader Joe’s for my weekly grocery shopping trip, I always get a tub of the regular hummus. But sometimes, I want a different flavor. Instead of spending money to get a brand new tub of flavored hummus, I thought, “Why not make my own?” And thus, Mango Chutney Hummus and Avocado Hummus were born.
Even though they sound fancy, they both took seconds to make and don’t require a bunch of ingredients. And best of all, you can make as much or as little as you want. I know I personally hate it when I have to buy a full size of anything when I only want a little taste.
I used to be a huge reader back when I was younger. Then, over the years, I got busy with school and eventually work and found little time for reading. By the time I was a young adult, I felt like my attention span diminished so much that I didn’t think I could focus on reading an entire book. 😦
BUT…I’ve recently felt the urge to read and keep my mind active. With me having a full time job and not learning something new every day like I did in college, I feel like my brain is just chillin’ in my head not really doing much of anything. So in an effort to keep the wheels in my head constantly turning, I headed over to Barnes & Noble to pick up a book that will inspire me and keep me engaged.
I like food with a little extra kick to it. Plain food is cool and all but to me, it gets a bit boring after a while.
Give me a dish with flavor and spices and you have my heart. This is also probably why I love Indian food so much. Spices galore!
I finally got a Twitter! Follow me on there so we can talk about food, music, cats, healthy food, crafting, and other exciting things life has to offer. 🙂
